Today is my first wedding anniversary and I’m excited to share some details and photos from our French-inspired wedding day with all of you! After we got engaged, Matthew suggested that we get married in Paris with our immediate family in attendance and I was extremely torn between wanting a traditional wedding with all of our family and friends and intimate French nuptials in the most romantic city that has a piece of my heart. Ultimately, I just couldn’t picture getting married without a big dance party with everyone we love so we went with a French-inspired wedding on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Our sail cloth tent, fields of lavender, vintage furniture, French-inspired fare and the laid-back glamour that came with an outdoor, countryside fête came together beautifully. We had a dream team of vendors, including Kari Rider Events and Annamarie Akins Photography, beautiful weather and a weekend with all of our nearest and dearest celebrating our love – it was truly a dream come true.
Some of my favorite moments and details were being surrounded by lavender at every turn, twirling on the dock with my husband(!!!) at sunset, dancing while eating macarons with my best friends, and our sparkler “exit” to our after-party bonfire. I wish we could relive the day over and over again! My favorite part of all, is that now my husband and I have the most meaningful memories of our wedding day and an entire lifetime to remember them together.
