I’d like to start this post by acknowledging that it feels a little trivial to be posting about clothes with everything that’s going on in our country right now. I’m feeling so helpless and frustrated about the crises going on in this country, particularly the current Constitutional crisis pertaining to refugees. While I’m trying to really build this blog, I also feel torn about not doing more for our country and writing about such light topics when my heart feels so heavy. I’m hoping to find a balance between blogging about fun, lighthearted topics while also putting in the work to be a part of the solution in this dark time for our country. That said, I’m *very* excited to be heading to Colorado to visit one of my best gal pals this week. For those of you that don’t know, I attended the University of Colorado in Boulder for undergrad and spent a year in Boulder after college. I’m still somewhat shocked that I left and every time I go back it makes me seriously reconsider moving back.
I’m staying in Denver with my dear friend and then we’re heading to Boulder for a night of pampering at the St. Julien complete with a visit to their gorgeous spa (hello, prenatal massage!). The St. Julien was the epitome of fanciness to me in my broke college days so being able to stay there for a night feels like I’m really a grown up now! Don’t you love those moments of realization about how far you’ve come? I love how laid back the style is in Colorado, especially given my ever-changing size these days! I plan on wearing a lot of leggings, denim, and flannel with cute beanies and boots. I’ll throw in a casual boho dress or two to wear with tights for dinners out and that should have me covered. I’m also making sure to bring a good moisturizer and lip balm since sun + cold = dry skin galore. I’ve linked a bunch of options for what to wear below in both maternity and regular sizing. (P.S. this is my favorite everyday moisturizer right now.) I’m also bringing this book and I can’t wait to start it on the plane!
I’m excited to share the details of my trip with you next week when I get back! Expect lots of good dining recommendations in Denver and Boulder and silly girlfriend photos with mountain backdrops. If you have any recommendations please let me know in the comments below!
