Belle Beauty Picks

A lot of people will tell you that makeup for photos has to be much heavier and more severe than your everyday makeup. I beg to differ. I am constantly getting questions about what I use when I post photos of myself and let me tell you a secret – I don’t change a thing for photos from my everyday makeup. I think the key is to pick makeup that looks good on you and it will photograph beautifully. Here are my products I swear by.

{1} Diorskin Nude BB Creme. This BB cream has beautifully sheer coverage that you can layer for days when you need a little more. It’s hydrating and provides a really pretty dewy look alone and can be made matte with a little powder or bronzer. I really don’t need foundation when I wear this cream.

{2} Bobbie Brown Bronzing Powder. I have tried all the bronzers. All. Of. Them. This one remains my favorite for a few reasons. First of all, it’s matte. I like to add highlighter strategically, not all over my face. Second of all, there are no pink undertones. When I am pale and looking to go golden, the last thing I want is to add a reddish tone to my skin. Third, it lasts forever and I use it every single day.

{3} Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact. For skin that looks like it’s incandescently glowing from within, I like to apply in the “C” outside my eyes, the tip of my nose and my cupid’s bow above my lips. A quick swipe over the cheek can also be really pretty as long as you don’t get too oily outside of your T-zone. You can also use the pearl color to highlight brows and the golden colors double as eyeshadow.

{4} I have been searching for the perfect mascara since my CVS Wet n’ Wild days. When I see a gal with lashes I love, I always ask what she’s wearing. This finally paid off when I discovered Yves Saint Laurent Volume Effect Faux Cils Babydoll. This gives me lashes that look like they go on for days and never ever clumps. The brush has duo-length bristles that adapt to all lash types, separating, coating, and multiplying lashes for defined volume.

{5} Nars Blush in Orgasm. This cult favorite has serious staying power, makes me look like I’m actually blushing in a pinky peach color and even provides subtle contouring along the cheekbone. With tiny golden flecks it also serves as a subtle highlighter for your cheeks.
